DH Teething Rant

I jinxed myself in saying Mel was unchanged by teething. She used to STTN, but has now switched to being up a lot at night. From 2am on she was up every hour. DH helped once at 2. That time sucked because I was literally dreaming that I was soothing the baby... Only to wake up and realize I wasn't and she was up for real now. DH got get quiet and back in the pnp, all proud of himself. She woke up again w within 20 mins. the only way she would sleep was in my lap or if I was sitting with my hand on her side to prevent her from rolling to her belly. I managed to sleep like that from 4-6 only waking slightly. At 6:45 she was hungry and I begged him to take her and feed her and calm her. I could have really used an hour of uninterrupted sleep. At 7:00 dh is telling me I should move over a little so she won't be kicking me as she lays in the bed screeching. Like I am sleeping with sounds that could wake the dead (if we were native American I think that would be dd's name) next to me. 7:15 he announces she will be happier in the pnp where she continues to scream., he goes back to sleep. By 7:30 I give up and need coffee and need to leave the bedroom so I don't punch the loudly snoring dh. At 8 he walks out to start getting ready for work and thanks me for letting him sleep since he was "up so much last night." %#!/&#!!! You were not up because if you were up, you would not be snoring and I would not have been imaging how I would like to pull your fingernails all out or punch you in the junk. Then he proceeds to go into the bathroom for an hour + (which is his morning routine. He can't possibly start his day without masturbating) which is longer than I spend in the bathroom all week. Darling child, please sleep some more so I don't harm your daddy whilst he sleeps.

Re: DH Teething Rant

  • I'm sorry. Sometimes I think some men wan some kind of award for waking up just once to help out at night. It is as if they think they did the greatest thing ever. Hopefully you get some rest today and M's chompers don't hurt as much.

  • Ugh, that sucks!

Reminds me of last week... Ari was up every 90 minutes on the dot. I woke every.single.time to sooth and finally feed him. I never woke my Dh.

The next morning I was clearly exhausted and my Dh said wow, I am so tired. I kept waking up every time you would leave the bed.

Are you effing kidding me?!?! We didn't speak the rest of the day.

DH says this kind of sh!t too...I want to slap him. Dont talk to me about tired Mr.

  • That last sentence about his morning routine....hahahaha. Makes me feel so much better. Had craptastic morning that started with me upset b/c my DH does the same thing except at night. Mad about that this morning as hubby says I'm being a bisch. Then I get a 20 over speeding ticket. They changed the speed limit there last year when it used to be 55. I have had a hard time slowing down to new limit. Ughhhh.
  • I threw a pillow at DH the other night at 5 AM because I was so pissed at him and how I handle all the night wakings. He took an overnight flight to Paris last night, and after DS2 had been awake from 4:15 AM on I sent DH a ranting text message this morning basically yelling at him because he got to sleep in first class last night while I didn't. I am irrationally upset with him about that. He has better buy me a gift on this trip.
