So my friend is an OB nurse and suggested I try the "brown bomb" which consists of: Equal parts of prune juice, OJ, 7up OR Sprite, and 2 tbsp on Karo Syrup. I'm taking a stool softner 3 times a day and have a bowel movement once a day... it just takes me a good 45 mins to (sorry ladies) squeeze the thing out!!!!
Re: Anyone tried the "brown bomb?"
Hahaha! Sounds disgusting but I know the feeling of being willing to try anything. I used to drink a cup of prune juice every morning with metamucil mixed in. Did the the trick (if you drink enough water throughout the day) but I had to chug it down with my nose plugged!
Goodluck!
hahaha maybe I'll try this!
I have not tried that and it sounds pretty gross.
I have found that eating cheerios with a banana cut up in it helps. Also a little bit of prune juice mixed with mostly cranberry juice does the trick if I have not gone for a couple of days. I would be careful with the prune juice. I have found that it takes very little.
The title alone sounds like the worst alcoholic shot EVER.
But hey, if it helps! I've never tried it, hopefully I never have to!
Baby #2 due 8/17/17
I take acidophilus in pill form. It's the active cultures in yogurt but in higher concentration. If you've never taken it before you will likely have a few days of bloating but once it starts working it WORKS! I am guaranteed to go within an hour of taking it.
I didn't go for 9 days after DD was born and I wasn't willing to go through that again. After DS, I drank prune juice every day and ate insane amounts of fiber and I managed to poop before leaving the hospital--major victory in my book!
I will be doing the same thing with this baby--constipation is no joke!
I think there's one where you drink a glass of epsom salt and water... I don't know the measurements but I've heard stories of the result... Wouldn't recommend planning to leave the toilet for a couple hours after downing it, but it is VERY effective.
We use this with DD for her pooping issues. Works great!
