FB annoyance...

It annoys me when people refer to the father of their child as "the sperm donor" as they rant. Even assuming the guy is a total douche....you once loved them enough to have a child with them, and I think that earns them just a tiny bit of respect. Plus, it just makes YOU look bad, IMO. I would hope if anything ever happened with the relationship between DH and I, that we would at least respect each other, especially on a public forum, where your child may one day see it. Thoughts?

    My mom never said this about my dad, but she should have. I think some people say it when they really shouldn't, but my father is not in my life at all so he really is like a sperm donor. Long story short, but he personally does not deserve any respect by anyone or anything.

    ETA: I know what you mean though, some people just make themselves look loose by saying it.

    It doesn't bother me, but most people I hear say it were not married and it was a bad relationship/breakup/child support situation.

    Mine too.  My bio father sent me an email in early June saying

    "happy birthday.

    Really? lol.  My birthday is in August, but um, thanks. 

    I consider my step-dad to be my actual dad.

    Marie are we the same girl? My sperm donor didn't say anything to me on my birthday in August and his name is Paul.
    i wish i could be joking but my dad is the music teacher at a church so he owuld be mad. we had sex, all the time how bad i know but we dont want to wait and he said GREAT OH KAY! and I was really feeling the wets? down there- too embarsed to say- but he acted like man.
