Braces!!!!

I just want to give you all a preview of the future.

I brought Linz to her bi-annual dental appointment today and she got her cleaning done, got her teeth checked out and got a referral to an orthodontist!  We're starting at 8 years old... I have YEARS of fun to look forward to!

    At what age do kids normally get them? I never had them, dh did at 14.

    Can I ask why when she's still so young? I was 15 when I got them and had them for nearly 4 years. I would have gotten them once I had all my permanent teeth but my mom couldn't afford them then. 

    But they're gonna wait till all her baby teeth are gone right? My niece looked like she had crooked teeth when she was younger but now that she's 11 and she has most of her adult teeth they look pretty straight.

    I've just heard of kids getting braces on their baby teeth and I don't see the point...

    They need to start now because she has a big overbite in the front, and her bottom teeth overlap the top teeth in the back, so they want to have it looked at now since the may be able to correct some stuff before braces.  Pre-braces I guess!

    I went to the orthodontist from 4th grade to 11th grade. Braces from 6th to 10th. MH had braces too, I am praying A won't need them, but the outlook isn't good.

    Oh man. Braces are no fun! Although I do kind of want invisalign right now...

    I never had them - I have a slight overbite, but my teeth are perfect other then that... I have no idea what she's going to go through and I feel bad!

    Oh man, the poor girl.  My brother had braces for several years but my sister and I got lucky and didn't need them.  E never had them either and his teeth are perfectly straight so I am holding onto the hope for my kids.  It must be painful.

    Braces are no fun but it will be worth it in the long run. Hopefully she won't need them for too long. I had mine for 5 very long years!

    I'm pretty sure both my kids will need braces. Cha ching!

    I got braces and glasses in the same year. I was smoking hot in 4th grade.
