DS is transitioning to a new "teacher" at daycare this month. He's been with her since June. She's also getting married at the end of October.
Is it appropriate to buy her a thank you gift once she ends with DS? What would you spend? Would you get her something off her wedding registry? I've seen a few parents giving other teachers gifts so I don't think it's uncommon.
Same question about Christmas...do you give gifts/give cash to their teachers? What is an appropriate amount?
Re: Gifts for daycare providers?
I don't think it's inappropriate to buy her something - but if it was me, personally I probably wouldnt (thats just my personal preference but maybe its because I am not really "close" to the ladies at my daughters DC and she has several that swap between her class).
So with that being said... if I was in your shoes ... did she give you her registery information? Or how do you know she registered? If you get something off the registery maybe something on the lower end (I'd say under $30) or maybe a gift card to where she is registered. Or maybe something cute and teacherish.
As far as Christmas, I think i will be making the girls at my kids DC some Christmas cookies. Again if you were doing a dollar amount I would think maybe somewhere under $30.00
