Have any babies' eyes turned brown yet?

If they weren't brown at birth?

Re: Have any babies' eyes turned brown yet?

  • Yes, they are about 90% brown now. Pediatrician said it could take up to a year though.

  • I know it can take awhile. I am just still hoping J's will stay light, since I have light eyes and everything else about her appearance is all H. We've made it almost 5 months! Comeoooonnn!!!
  • B has my eyes for sure. I was kinda hoping that he would have blue eyes like his daddy, but I don't see that happening. At least he got his nose though.

If they are really light, I would think they'd stay that way? I'm no doctor though, my LO's were always a darkish grey color and they started to turn brown. Her brown eyes are about all she got from me, and her ears, but I hate my ears so that's not a good thing to get from me.

  • Ours are still the dark grey color she was born with. I'm still thinking they'll turn brown. H has dark brown eyes and mine are blue. So, I guess they could stay grey? Or maybe they'll turn hazel?

It takes up to a year? Wow, long time.

My mom is convinced that they'll stay light and told me she knew all along I would have blue eyes and my sister would have brown.. but she's a crazy  grandma now ,so who knows? lol.

I know I've asked about this before, like 3 months ago. I'm kind of obsessive about it.

  • DS are pretty close to the same from birth. His are a blue- a darker blue, and then a gray/green around the pupil. Both Dh and I have brown eyes so that is what I was expecting. I was born with brown eyes and Dh's turned brown within a month.

  • Yep, a couple months ago already I'd say, they turned from that dark gray color to my color - a hazel-y brown.  He looks much more like DH, so I'm glad he got something from me :)

  • L's were a really deep blue when she was born and now they are still blue (not as dark) with grayish kind of in the middle. I am surprised they are still light, I figured DH's brown would dominate. We'll see! I hope they stay light though because she has such dark hair, it will look pretty.

  • They look dark in the pic but his eyes are still blue, and i am hoping they stay that way. I have dark hair and dark eyes, and H is light eyes, light hair. Stay light Lou!!

  • J's eyes are still slate grey. DH and I both have green eyes, so that's what we were expecting, but if anything they've gotten a bit bluer.

  • Her eyes are still pretty blue. I have green eyes and DH's are grayish blue so I'd say she has a good chance of having light eyes.

  • Still blue, same blue since birth.  Mine are brown but my husband's are blue so everyday he makes a comment about how they are still sticking to the blue.  We do have a year but we are hoping for my husband's blue since he looks like me.

lol, yep, this sounds like me.

  • They are definitely changing. Sometimes they still look blue but everyday they get darker and darker... I'm not sure if they will actually be brown or more hazel like my eyes. They are really beautiful right now though with the mixture of colors.

  • DD1 had blue eyes until she was almost two, then they turned gray/green. I think that I've read you won't know the color of their eyes for sure until 2, but of course some change before that.
  • A's are a very dark hazel already. My son's were a gorgeous light blue for over a year and then turned to a light hazel.

  • H's eyes took a while to completely turn- I think the steely blue ring stuck around till 8 or 9 months. S's eyes turned much earlier.

  • I bet Joanna's eyes will stay blue.  My DH is mexican and DS1's are blue.. go figure.  You'd think the dark genes would have won out.  And, to further support my argument about J;) my DS2's eyes are brown already - in fact they went brown after a month or so.  So I think in MOST cases they change pretty fast, from what I've seen IRL.  I reckon J's blue are here to stay.

  • Matilda's eyes are still blue. I will admit to also obsessing a bit about it, I want them to stay blue so she has my eyes. I suppose it's silly to care so much. However I feel like if they turn brown I will love her less.

I kid, I kid. I will love her just as much, lol

  • When Julian was born his eyes were darkkkkkkkkk blue...like navy blue. Now they're 100% brown...just like DH and I. I was expecting a brown eyed baby since both DH and I are dark hair dark eyes middle easterners. However DH is very fair skinned and im a little olive...DS is snow white though which I LOVE!

  • Cam's have turned a more lighter blue. They are AMAZING right now. I have grey/blue eyes and DH has BRIGHT bright green. I was hoping they would be like DH's but now I'm actually loving the way they are now. Here's a pic of his eyes. I enhanced the color, but thats his eye color - just brightened! Crazy!
