  I want to get Lou a toychest for sure. I have just started thinking about this too. For H, he already circled a bunch of stuff in the NFL magazine so ill just get a few things from there.

  I'm getting Chris the iPad mini as a combined birthday and Christmas gift. His birthday is the day after Christmas.

  Hazel and Owen will be getting a joint gift of giant wooden puzzles. They sell them at Sam's and it is a package of 2. I love them. We are getting the US map and farm animals set. Then we will get them some clothes or something individually. I don't really know. Her birthday is at the end of November so she should be pretty set up for toys and possibly clothes.

  i wish i could be joking but my dad is the music teacher at a church so he owuld be mad. we had sex, all the time how bad i know but we dont want to wait and he said GREAT OH KAY! and I was really feeling the wets? down there- too embarsed to say- but he acted like man.

  Truthfully, didn't plan on much b/c he won't even remember so I am just getting some books and will have to see what other toys he will need at the time.  Friends who have older children say they don't care about the toys they buy they like boxes and wooden spoons so I may just wrap things around the house for him to unwrap.  It is exciting because it is his first Christmas but I think it will get better once he is older and understands.  

   As for my husband, we decided we don't really need anything so we have been getting things for us to do together - concerts, cooking classes, etc. and it is good date night activities.

  I'm going to try to not get too crazy this year since she will still be so little, but we'll see about that lol. I bought a plush rocking horse when I was 6 months pregnant with the intention of giving it to her for Christmas. I bought a Taggies blanket and will probably get some more books for sure. I'll probably take a trip to the Fisher-Price store for some inspiration

  We're setting up a play area for him in the basement (just need to clear out some stuff), so my plan is to get stuff for that - he'll be at a good age for it at that point. Things like those foam alphabet letters for the floor, toy racks, etc. I know my family and friends will probably go overboard buying toys for him so I don't want to go too crazy.

  Also, DH and I don't exchange gifts.  When you share finances, the thrill of the surprise gift is gone.  We'd rather spend the money on the kids anyway.

  I don't think I am going to buy much of anything for the kids this year. We'll be going out of state for Christmas and they will get tons of stuff from my mom and MIL. We also already have all the standard first year baby gear. I'm getting some sort of tablet PC for my toddler for his birthday in October, so he might just get some new apps or something for the car trip there and back. I want to get DD and DS a play kitchen sometime next year, although I might have it be DD's 1st birthday gift understanding that it will mostly get played with by DS for a while.

  And for H, we don't exchange gifts.
