If you have a FP Space Saver high chair, please help!

Do the bottom straps come off so I can clean them?!  The top/shoulder straps are easy to pop off and soak, but how the F am I meant to clean the lap straps?

I've been just wiping them with a cloth as I'm cleaning up from dinner, but they're getting really icka and I want to wash them properly.  Especially because DH let DD watch Sesame Street on the iPad while she ate her ravioli for dinner last night, so she didn't pay much attention to her food, and got cheese and sauce everywhere.  Gross.

  • I just bought one at a consignment shop on Friday.  If it is the same model, the straps do come off the same way as the shoulder straps.  They are just a total PITA though because the slots are a tight fight.

Hmmm, maybe I will take another look at it tonight.  DH and I both couldn't figure it out last night, and I was thinking that I'd put a shallow bowl of soapy water on the seat and just dangle as much of the strap as I could into the bowl to soak.  Better than nothing, right?

  • Recline the seat all the way for easier access to the back side of the bottom strap.  I had to do that to push it up while pulling to get it though.

  • Perfect timing with this post.

Last night, R shoved a spoon too far in his mouth and gagged.  And threw up. All over the buckle and straps.  I washed the padding and cleaned the straps the best I could, but this morning the seat still smelled like throw up.

I'm so afraid that if I get the straps undone, I won't be able to re-attach them.  I haven't figured it out yet...

Yup, that's a concern too.  I figure if I can get them out, they've got to go back in.  This is going to be tonight's project after DD goes to bed.

I suppose I should've also taken it off the chair to try and get the straps off, huh?  Didn't even occur to me.  Wow.

Don't feel bad, Susie! I had no clue, either!

    Thanks!  Stick out tongue
