BBT thermometers?

I had a depo Provera shot back in June because we weren't quite ready for #2.  After I researched the depo shot, I'm worried that my ovulation is going to be all messed up.

This is my first cycle since the shot 12 weeks ago, and I was thinking about charting BBT and using OPK's. I've never done this before, but I know how it works.

Just wondering if anyone used a specific brand of BBT thermometer, or if it didn't really matter?

 Thanks!

Re: BBT thermometers?

  • my first one died and i ended up with a target brand BBT thermometer.

it does matter because most regular thermometers only go to a tenth and you are supposed to chart using temps to the hundreth.

  • I started out with a regular fever thermometer and quickly switched to a BBT because the regular thermometer didn't seem to be accurate enough. I found a bbt therm at a local drugstore that works just fine.

  • I used the Target brand BBT when I was charting when TTC our DS. I didn't have any problems with it, so I would recommend it. I've dug it out again to use for TTC #2 (even though we're TTA at least this cycle at a minimum).

  • I have a BBT from CVS and it works well, cost me $10. A popular choice is the one from Walmart. Check out fertility friend for easy charting if you haven't already! You can click on my BFP chart link and it'll take you there :-)
