after probably the first week or so I was fine. I had a 2nd degree tear. Except for when DTD. When we were given the go ahead at 6 weeks it did hurt and probably for a couple weeks after that but only when DTD. Now I'm 100% and have been since probably 8 or 9 weeks pp.

Pretty much all of this, except I had an episiotomy. To be honest after the first week or so, I was fine as well. Everything's been back to normal since around the same time frame, 8-9 weeks pp.

If you're still having pain over a year later, you might want to talk to your Dr. That doesn't seem normal. Good luck. I hope you can get it figured out and stop having pain, that doesn't sound fun.

I have pain still during sex. It's gotten better in the last month or two but still hurts. I've read in several places now that it can be normal when BFing. I like to think of it as mother nature's birth control. No desire to have sex and possibly get pregnant again while still nursing a baby you already have if it hurts so much!

Heard this too. My OBGYN told me when your BFing and not ovulating your basically in a menopausal state. So its pretty dry down there just like for women in menopause. Dryness= pain. I couldn't have sex till DS was nearly 5 months. We would try periodically and it was so painful I'd end up crying and give up. My DS was also 9 lb 7 oz so I basically gave birth to a whale. It's almost back to normal now.

I'm actually going to bring this up to OB when I'm there for a follow up Pap in a few weeks. I'm still experiencing pain, but only during sex and only in certain positions. I wasn't for awhile, but I'd say the last 6-ish months I've been experiencing it.
Though, I wouldn't be surprised if mine is mind over matter. Since November 2011 this will be my 3rd pap due to some pre-cancerous cells, so I think I could also be imagining it because I've been stressing about this and (hopefully) making things up in my mind.
