So, about those e-mom solicitations

Just an FYI that I contacted the Bump gods to let them know that there were PAPs PMing expectant moms their profiles, etc. I also forwarded silliest's PSA about the purpose of this board. They want to know if there should be some kind of disclaimer at the top of the board to discourage such activities, or if we should just continue self-policing. Let me know if you want anything posted and I can forward it along.

    I'm pretty new, so whatever everyone else wants to do is fine with me but my personal opinion is it might be nice to have it at the top of the board so that hopefully it won't come up again.  I know it probably will since not everyone reads or respects rules in real life, but hopefully it would cut down on expectant parents having that experience again.  Then if people continue to do it we could add some self-policing as well. 

    Again though, whatever the majority wants is fine with me Smile

    I don't mind having a disclaimer up. It helps new folks understand the "rules." Just because it is obvious to one person doesn't mean it is obvious to the next, you know?

    However, I would not end the self-policing. I think that is very effective!

    Agreed. A "no solicitation between potential birthparents and potential adoptive parents will be tolerated" message at the top wouldn't hurt.

    Ditto all of this!  I think it is important to have something up there for newbies who may not know better.

    Clomid + IUI#1, #2 = BFN / IUI #3 = ???

    Laparoscopy scheduled December 2013

    09/2011- Miscarriage at 10 1/2 weeks

    01/2012- Start Home Study process
    03/2012- Home Study approved and now waiting on our child to find us!
    07/2012- matched with a BM who is due in October!
    11/10/12- our son is born!
    11/13/12- court grants us custody!
     12/28/12- finalization! Always ours in our hearts, but.now also ours forever

    Great to see something is being done!

    I think in there needs to be something encouraging expecting moms contacted by those people to block and report them, maybe?
