  I just bought one at a consignment shop on Friday.  If it is the same model, the straps do come off the same way as the shoulder straps.  They are just a total PITA though because the slots are a tight fight.

  Hmmm, maybe I will take another look at it tonight.  DH and I both couldn't figure it out last night, and I was thinking that I'd put a shallow bowl of soapy water on the seat and just dangle as much of the strap as I could into the bowl to soak.  Better than nothing, right?

  Recline the seat all the way for easier access to the back side of the bottom strap.  I had to do that to push it up while pulling to get it though.

  Perfect timing with this post.

  Last night, R shoved a spoon too far in his mouth and gagged.  And threw up. All over the buckle and straps.  I washed the padding and cleaned the straps the best I could, but this morning the seat still smelled like throw up.

  I'm so afraid that if I get the straps undone, I won't be able to re-attach them.  I haven't figured it out yet...
