Did anyone watch the Stand Up To Cancer benefit over the weekend?
Taylor Swift wrote a song called "Ronan" about a little boy who died of cancer at age 4. Ronan's mom wrote a blog about the whole experience of having a child with cancer to writing about the day he passed.
The blog is excellently written and most of the time written as though she were conversing with her little boy. Seriously cannot get more than a couple of paragraphs into her blog without tears streaming down my face. Its a beautifully written blog but don't read it if someone you love is ill or you don't want to spend the next hour using up an entire box of kleenex

Its the lyrics of Taylors song that really get me, when she sang "you were my best four years" I lost it, a great big sobbing mess. Even if you don't like Taylor Swift, you can't deny this song takes your breath away:

If you want to buy it, it's on itunes with the proceeds going to charity. I listened to the song yesterday and today it's still making me teary just thinking about it. I'm sure we all have loved ones who've been affected by cancer. Anyone else turn into a pile of mush after hearing this song?
Re: Taylor Swift has messed me up.
Oh.my.freaking.gosh... The damn line about it's almost Halloween and you could be anything you want to be... That's supposed to be a LIFELONG thing you tell your kid. That's not just something that you get to tell them for Halloween. Life isn't supposed to be that short-sighted. I'm a mess. My kids are staring at me wondering why I'm crying.
Hank just kissed my arm and asked me, "Mama, you OK?" in his sweet little voice.
