Facebook

If you are posting belly photos on FB, how often do you post one?

I wasn't going to post any, but my friends and family who don't see me every week asked for them weekly.  I think that's a bit much, so I've been posting every 2-3 weeks since 18 weeks or so.

Re: Facebook

  • I wanted to avoid over-posting belly pics on FB, so instead we take a weekly belly pic and post it on the website we created for the baby.  The link to the website is listed in my FB info, so those interested can follow along and those who don't care, don't have to be bombarded with weekly belly pics.  I'll periodically post the link as my status as a reminder for those may have forgotten the web addy.  This seems to have worked very well.

  • I have not been posting belly pics, but I agree weekly is a bit much on fb. Every once in awhile maybe once a month I make DH take a new picture together to change my profile pic. Usually we have something going on that we've dressed up a little bit more for. That way people who want to see the baby belly can, but I'm not constantly posting about my pregnancy.

  • It's not really public knowledge on my FB that I'm even pregnant, so the only pictures that have been posted of me pregnant are ones that I've been tagged in. I also haven't taken weekly bump pictures, either. Embarrassed

To answer your question though, the friends of mine that have been pregnant have usually uploaded their weekly bump photos. Some of them posted them a month at a time rather than each week, though. Maybe that would be better? Or posting a monthly picture? We're almost done at this point so maybe monthly isn't the answer!

  • I posted one at twenty weeks and another at thirty.  I may add another one or two closer to the end.  I keep forgetting to take belly pictures for the baby book, so those are the only ones I have so far.

  • I have only posted one. Mostly because not too many people on my FB are the kind to look at belly pictures. I only have 7 friends, three are guys. One friend already has 5 kids and is over the whole baby thing and another is having fertility issues.

We plan to have a couple of nice professional ones done and I will probably post a couple of those and call it a day.

I also did this. I think it's pretty annoying when I see others post weekly pictures of their bumps so I swore I never would before I got pregnant. The only other 'belly' pictures I will post next is my maternity photos. After that, they wont see much of me.

  • I posted one at 20 weeks and another at 28 weeks.  I might post a picture every four weeks for the rest of the pregnancy.

  • I post weekly but it's more for myself than for family and friends. I take a picture and add text with milestones from each week so I can track my pregnancy and I share them in an album that only 'baby people' can see (when I first started it I posted a status asking who wanted to be added to baby updates so I wouldn't be spamming my entire friends list with pregnancy stuff).
Please pardon any typos -- I'm typically bumping from my phone

  • I've only really posted photos on the Nov' FB group and I think MAYBE one on my regular Facebook to share with a friend in MI, but other than that, nope. I'm not very comfortable getting my picture taken anyway, never mind being pregnant lol

I have quite a few bump shots but only for me and FI to see and compare from last pregnancy.

  • I've only posted one, and it was because a few people begged to see one.

  • I haven't posted any on my fb page.  I have posted some on the PGAL page, the Nov 2012 page and maybe 1 or 2 on NO.  I don't want to risk upsetting friends with IF or loss issues by constantly throwing my pg in their face, thus no bump pics on my page.  In fact, I say very little about the pg on my page.  I announced the pg and announced the sex, but other than that, I haven't said boo about it.

  • Never!  FB doesn't even realize I am pg.  I honestly don't want to see my friends stomachs (clothed is a little different)  PG belly buttons really freak me out and I do NOT want to see any flattened or stretched out belly buttons.  yuck

  • I post every 2-3 weeks or so. I started posting at 23 weeks.

  • I post my fruit/veggie pics once a week.

This for me.  I send personal messages with pictures for those that are curious. :)

  • I post one every 5 - 6 weeks. The last one posted was 25 weeks, so I think I'll do one this week at 31, and then maybe one around 38 or 39 weeks.

  • I just revealed my pregnancy on FB maybe a week ago. At that point, I posted 3 pictures (no bare belly). My family and friends are all over the country, so this is really the only way they see me preg.(apart from the baby shower which was a month ago).

I plan on adding maybe 2 more pics as we get closer to November. BUT I refuse to be one of those people who post constant updates on how I'm feeling, dr's appts, etc. Those bug me.

  • I have a ton of family all across the country on my facebook, and they like the pics, so I post every 2-3 weeks (in clothes, no bare belly pics). I have quite a few other friends on FB who are pregnant also, and they post way more belly pictures than I do, so I don't feel like I'm over doing it :)

  • I post one up about every two weeks now, basically when I do HDBD on here :). I feel weekly is too much and if I compare the pics and it hasn't changed I don't post it up but I'll say something like, wow only so many weeks/days left. I didn't post anything up till almost 16 weeks either just because there didn't seem to be anything there to post before that. At that time there's about 4 weeks difference in shots and didn't start every two weeks till about 24 weeks. (I'm 30+4 today).

  • I post weekly since 23 weeks
  • I've never posted bump pics on my personal fb page. I've been tagged in pics where I'm obviously pregnant but that's it. We just did maternity photos so I'll likely post a few of them.

  • I've posted mine every week since about 16 weeks. I was really nervous to at first because I felt it was so AW-y, but I got such a positive response from a lot of people who told me how they loved seeing them every week that I've kept it up. They're always clothed!

Very neat! And I can't believe how much your belly dropped at 30 weeks!

I don't post updates regularly, maybe every 5 weeks or so. I try to find a balance between keeping people up to date like they want and being sensitive to those who don't want all the details.

  • In the beginning I would post about every 4 weeks.  After that, I just started posting pics from events, i.e. "date night with my love (and a 24 week belly!)" or "Gopher home opener at 28 weeks!"  I also post the comparison to the fruit/veggie, and I've gotten some funny comments about those.  I'm probably posting every other week at this point.  I think they're a little more exciting and fun to look at vs the regular stand-in-front-of-wall pictures.
