What are planning getting lo for Christmas? I'm thinking about smart-trike tricycle. My lo has a lot of small toys but this yr I wanted to get her some outdoor toys and things to play with in the backyard.
Maybe a play work bench or something like that. Although H says we HAVE to buy him a kitchen, cause he loved playing with the fake kitchens growing up lol
We're getting him a table to set his train set on...hopefully with kind of storage included. Also a little table and chair set to to give him somewhere to draw and color. Maybe a sled too.
A wooden play kitchen and a little grocery cart. I bring her to an indoor play place sometimes and those are the things that she plays with the most right now. That's all I've thought of yet.
DH: 34/Me: 35 Married: Feb 2008 DD: June 2011 TTC# 2: April 2014 BFP!! 8/29/16 --> EDD: 5/11/17....it's a GIRL!!!
Hmmm, haven't thought about it too much yet. But I would like to get her some sort of climbing/slide thing. She loves climbing on everything right now. And I think some more books. Can never have enough! I'm sure I'll think of things between then and now!
I feel like LO has a lot of toys (only grandchild on both sides) so I'm not really sure. She already has a kitchen, vacuum, grocery cart, tons of books, baby dolls, etc.
I think we will get her one of those motorized scooters (not the huge electric cars, but the ones that are around $60) and a helmet to play in the backyard. I also want to get her some more play dishes (she really likes the few she has now) and a baby bed for her dolls. Maybe some cars- she seems to like those.
Just a suggestion, but my LO loves to color, so coloring books and larger sized crayons might be a good idea for someone. Also, LO LOVES her baby dolls. She has a few pretend baby bottles (they are expensive at most stores, but I found some at Dollar Tree!) and likes to "feed" her babies. That might also be a good suggestion for someone else.
I really just plan on getting her a few toys (since I know she will get some from everyone else) and the rest on clothes, diapers, and toys.
We will probably just get her some craft supplies. In laws are getting her a tricycle and my parents got her some little people toys and I am sure will end up getting her more
I saw a lot of boy ideas were play kitchens. DS likes to play with all my pots and pans and measuring cups. DH said he couldn't get a play kitchen because it was "gay"

I'm not sure- I haven't wanted to think about Christmas yet, since DH will be deployed by then
But, I'd like to get her play food for her kitchen- I especially love the Melissa and Doug wooden produce that you can "cut" then velcro back together. There's a sandwich set too- I used to drool over them when I worked at TRU and thought that one I have a kid, I would definitely buy them one of those.

DS got the Fisher-Price Little People Zoo Talkers Animal
Sounds Zoo for his birthday so he'll definitely be getting more of the animals that go with it. Other than that I haven't thought too much about it yet.

The M&D cutting food was one of DD's favorite birthday gifts!

Boo! Men have a definite place in the kitchen regardless of being straight or gay. I would just get it anyway.
I am thinking a piano. She loves the M&D one, but for a little bit more I can get one that is much nicer that she can learn on when she is a little bit older. She loves anything musical. I am hoping that she will continue loving music, and not take after me

I've started stalking craigslist for used wooden kitchens and used anywhere chairs. If family asks, bath toys (she has like one actual bath toy, lol!), art stuff, stuff for the kitchen if I find one, or 18 month clothes (or 24 if she has a crazy growth spurt by then!)
ETA, oh! and a baby doll for sure. I've got in my mind that I need the perfect one since it will be her first. She has lots of stuffed animals and loves them, but at daycare her favorite is her "bay-beee!" so I want to get her one.

My mom got me a baby doll every year for Christmas. I still have the first one... her name was Becky . I would feel like I needed to buy my daughter the "perfect" one, too. Then as I got older, she started getting me the nicer collectible dolls. It was very special.
We got her a Radio Flyer trike for her birthday and she wants nothing but to push it around. Doesn't like riding it but it grows with her so hopefully she'll learn to like it later.
For Christmas, not sure yet. As it is right now, she is not interested in any toys so at some point I thought an indoor climber and slide would be ideal but I don't know that I want to encourage climbing now.

A kitchen set. He has a FP one now, but doesn't care for it anymore. I'm looking for a tall wooden one. Oh and some pots and pans.
More books.
And because he doesn't like staying home, an annual pass to either the aquarium, zoo or museum around here. Not sure which one yet. I"m not into Disneyland so that's a def no. Once a year is fine, but not an annual pass.

no clue. we have so many toys around here, and dd2 will inherit dd1's old stuff. dd1 may get some playmobile sets, disney princess stuff, girly things like makeup and nail stickers (she loves that sort of thing). as for dd2... baby wipes?

Cole is so not interested in toys either anymore. I keep thinking its just cause he's bored of them, but he is really active, and a huge climber! If you find a good indoor climber let me know, I think that would be cool!
DS loves cars and trains - so I want to start him a wooden train set. We'll probably get a basic track and 2 or 3 train pieces for it. I'm looking at the Thomas Wooden set and then we can add to it with other pieces and engines for other holidays and birthdays etc.
Is it mean to get the play kitchen out of our attic that I had for DS1 and present it to Liam as a Christmas gift?? Otherwise, I really have no ideas! He has so many toys from my older son (and most of those he doesn't care about, he only wants to play with the "big kid" toys that Jake has)
but on a related note, your LOs will love their play kitchens! It was a huge hit with Jake. we just put it away after Liam was born because we needed room for the bouncy seat, exersaucer, etc....but otherwise, he played with it on a regular basis from about 18 months-3.5!
I saw a lot of boy ideas were play kitchens. DS likes to play with all my pots and pans and measuring cups. DH said he couldn't get a play kitchen because it was "gay"
Not that I support the idea that kitchens are for girls, but my friend's son has a fake grill that's pretty cool. It comes with burgers and spatulas and stuff.
As for us, the only things I've thought of so far are Megablocks and some kind of art table or activity table. We really don't have room for any more "big" toys right now, but we'll be moving to a new house in March (yay!) so we can probably get a few things for Christmas and just live with the clutter until we move.
This thread got DH and I thinking, and so far we've come up with:
Dump Truck
Mega Bloks Table
Little Chair, something like the Pottery Barn Everywhere Chair
Wooden Toy Box
Puzzles
Puzzle holder/case
Board Books
Wagon
Scooter
Balance Bike
Musical Toys
DS born 6/11/11, miscarriage on 8/6/2012 at 10w5d, miscarriage on 12/29/13 at 5w4d, BFP #4 on 2/21/2104 at 3w4d - EDD 11/3/2014 ♡
Target had a really cute keyboard on sale that I've been eyeing for a couple of months... So I bought it last night to put back for Christmas. We're not going overboard on Christmas this year. She's got so many toys and she prefers the cat toys anyway... The only toys she's shown an interest in were musical. She is particularly fond of keyboards. Yay! Hopefully she stays musical!
This year I was FINALLY able to get H on board with using a new Xmas gift system -- "Want, Need, Wear, Read."
Each girl will get only 5 presents -- something they want (a toy or game), something they need (not sure what that is just yet -- probably sheets, stuff for school, or something similar), something to wear (clothes) and something to read (books or a magazine subscription).
They will also get 1 gift from Santa (my 7 y/o will get a Kindle or Nook, my 4 y/o will get a bike and the baby will get a Little Tikes Cozy Coupe)
Birthdays and holidays have gotten way out of hand and I'm looking forward to having a set amount of gifts to buy!

C LOVES his Little People farm, so I've been looking at other Little People stuff... I'm focused on the zoo and the garage or fire station.
I also think he needs a work bench and duplo blocks.
I want him to have a sandbox and swingset, but I think I'll wait until his 2nd birthday for that.

His legs aren't long enough for his feet to touch the floor yet, so we push him around. I can't wait til he can get himself around in it.
