I have a borderline-"giant" fibroadenoma that I meeting with another surgeon for on the 16th.?
If you don't mind me asking, what was your process leading up to the surgery? Sounds like they just went right in and took it out (which I know happens frequently). With me, it was discovered at my annual, I was sent for an ultrasound the next morning, then a core-biopsy the day after that (because the u/s revealed it was solid). From there we met with a surgeon a couple weeks later, who we didn't really like, and now we are meeting with another. If your process moved as quickly as it sounds, I'm jealous!
Hope you feel better soon. After my biopsy I was bruised and swollen for about a week and half! Yikes.

Re: **imaPrincess**
I found the lump while showering, and waited to see if it was just from my period, and after a month and a half of it still being there, I called my doctor, they got me in the next day. My doctor sent me for a mamo and u/s the following week. My doctor called me after he got the images and suggested that I meet with a surgeon. I met with the surgeon (highly recomended by my doctor) and after researching him online, I seen him last Monday, and my surgery was set for yesterday. No biopsy, he said that since it was a solid mass that he would have to core it and if he was going in to core it that he might as well just remove it. So, it's gone now, thank God I feel better with it gone, I'm just really sore in the area. He said it was the size of a large acorn. I don't know how big the incision is or how bad it looks, I can't take the dressing off until I have my post-op appointment next Tuesday. So that's how my process went...I am bruised and swollen now, and very sore...surgery went good though!
Good luck to you! Once you find a surgeon that you like, I would suggest getting it removed. Then you won't have to worry about it later!
We'll definitely be getting it removed.?
They did the biopsy first with me because they weren't sure of the size based on the u/s, and if it were smaller than they thought, they may have wanted to leave it alone. They said they typically don't operate on the smaller ones.. but with us TTC they warned that adenomas tend to grow more rapidly during pregnancy. After the biopsy, which showed it was "borderline giant", we decided we definitely want it gone for peace of mind!
Everything happened so fast in that couple days, that I was really dumb-founded by it all and didn't realize we could have skipped the biopsy and jumped straight to surgery. I wish we could have done that!?
Good luck for a speedy recovery!
