I'm working on A's new big boy room and I don't really love any of the bedding out there. I haven't order this yet because I'm having the hardest time coming up with paint ideas. I'm thinking green, orange, or yellow? We have natural pine furniture so I'm not sure how orange or yellow would look.
I think my only other solution at this point would be to order plain bedding and go all out on decor and paint, but I really wish I could find bedding I love instead. I've already ordered the artwork and decals (my first mistake...) and the theme is "animal alphabet" with bold, modern colors. Any suggestions, either for new bedding or paint colors for this bedding set?
Thanks!
Re: What color paint with this bedding?
I'm not sure if I'm seeing all of the colors correctly in the picture, but is there a tan or gray in there? If so, I think I'd so 3 of the walls that neutral color and mayone one wall the dark navy.
I was also having a really hard time fiding bedding for a "big boy" room for DS and I ended doing what you're thinking about. I got neutral bedding and then am decorating with the theme stuff thoughout the room. I figure this will last longer and be easier to change.
This! I think since you have such bright, vibrant colors in the bedding (and sounds like the art work), you should do a more neutral wall. I have a friend who did a "Hungry Caterpillar" theme-lots of bright primary colors and had 3 walls beige and the wall behind the bed navy with pine furniture- it looks fabulous.
Another idea- if you love your artwork, let that make the motif and just order different color solid bedding to pull out the colors from the art (i.e. red pillows, blue comforter, yellow sheets). I'd still keep the walls a neutral in this case since you'd have a lot of color from the art and bedding.
