Beta Test even if you get a full Period?

Hi guys,

It's my first time to post on one of these boards, but they have been very helpful! I have completed 5 IUIs ( one brief chemical  pregnancy on the 4th) and just completed my first IVF all using donor sperm ( sorry I do not know all the lingo yet). My beta is supposed to be tomorrow (Monday), but I started spotting yesterday, prayed it was just that and normal, but am full blown period now. My clinic didn't say what to do if I got my period BEFORE the test??? In the past I have just started again with IUI, but I know I have to wait a month now, so test or no test?? Oh and I am WELL over 35 Confused And I am not sure I can afford to try again,but I do want to! It does seem people have better success on the 2nd try...

    You need to still go for the beta since the results are part of the clinic's SART stats. I have gotten my period before beta on IVF2 and I still had to go.. I know it sucks.

     

    Unless you have any frozen embryos to do an FET, you would need to  take off a cycle. It is also better mentally to take a break.

    DE FET#1 ET 3/1714; BFP, beta 1 3/27= 197, beta 2 3/31= 1586, beta 3 4/7= 13879!!
    First u/s= Twins with HBs at 6w2d! We are Team Pink x 2!!

    Both of my failed IVF cycles (1 and 2) I had a full blown period that started the day before Beta.  I still had to have the beta drawn.  It's tough, I was a hot mess going to both blood draws.

    I also recommend a break between failed IVF cycles.  I had a 2 month break between IVF1 and IVF2, this next IVF (#3) I'm waiting 6 months. It's difficult mentally and physically. Your body and mind need a break.

    FET 6/20 : One 5AA PGS normal transferred Beta 1 6/28 = 53.9 / Beta 2 7/1 = 220 / Beta 3 7/3 = 550!

    1 U/S  6w3d - Heartbeat 119 /  2 U/S - 7w5d- Heartbeat 169 / 3 U/S (OB) 8w5d - Heartbeat still great!

    Thanks so much guys! I will tale at least one month off, it actually might be nice not to obsess about this for a bit.
