proud BFing moment!

dd2 can ask to nurse now!  she says, "nuh" and then clearly indicates with her body language (positioning herself) that she intends on nursing.  pretty cool!

i remember with dd1 how it developed from "nuh" to "nur" to "nurse" over the course of several months.  one of my friends taught her kid to say "boobies."  yeah...  that didn't go over so well in public.

Evelyn has done the sign for nurse for a while now and it is so convienent!  I'm curious to see what word she comes up with to go with it.

  • That's awesome!

On a side note ....Is it bad if DD just responds (gets into position) when I ask her if she wants momma's milk? And also, we have a book with pictures of common first words and if we ask her, "where is the milk?", she points to either mine or DH's chest. She doesn't try to nurse on DH or anything, but I guess she must think that everyone has milk and she doesn't know what cow's milk is yet because she's never had any. I guess now I'm just worried she might be confused by the word milk in that it only means my milk.

i don't think that confusion is any worse than people who think milk just comes from cows.

Yep, I used the sign for milk.  It cracks me up because sometimes she just uses one hand but if she's really desperate she uses both hands and waves them in the arm and does it furiously!

DD says mi, mi, like the first part of milk. Then she proceeds to ferociously rip at my shirt. She only does this in public. When we are home she goes to the cupboard and brings me a cup. Stinker.

LOL!  of course she saves that for when you're out in public...
