Poor tired us.

Anyone else had a rotten week up multiple wakings?

Last night.started off promising but then at 11pm we lost power for 4 hours because a neighbourhood power box was being replaced. The lack of warning was so frustrating and I couldn't fall asleep because I kept thinking about how long we would be without power.

The baby is resisting no cry methods. And teething.

I trust we are just a couple weeks away from better nights but for now I just need a nap.

  • Me!  When we were at our cabin the week before Labor Day, C was up every two hours starting at 11pm almost every night.  It was rough.  This week he's been up 1-2 times each night.

I talked to his pedi and he basically just said they're going through a lot of milestones at this time and its completely normal.  Which for me is hard because DD was the perfect sleeper and slept through the night from like 6 weeks on...I am someone too who needs her sleep!

E is still on East Coast time from our trip back to the US.  It's 10pm here and she is wide awake...I have been trying since last week to get her back to normal schedule, but it has been very hard.  On top of that, when she finally falls asleep she wakes up every two hours or more.  Last night I was so tired, that I let her cry herself back to sleep around 3:00 am.

I have decided that family can come visit us out here now...

  • In the past couple weeks we've had a handful of pretty rough nights too but he hasn't been consistent. Lots of big things going on at the moment. He just got over a virus, getting a 3rd tooth, and has been very active crawling and pulling himself up. Now when he wakes up, he stands up in the crib by the door and then doesn't know to lay back down. Last night was the first night we were able to let him fuss for a bit and he finally laid down and went back to sleep on his own.

It sucks being sleep deprived. E was never a good sleeper until about 6 months. DH said last night it feels like we're regressing back to those horrible times from earlier on. It isn't as bad as it was though, that's for sure. And at least now I know it will eventually pass. Before it felt like I would never get sleep ever again. It was devastating!
