Intro..

Hello,

 I have been lurking for a little bit and want to formally introduce myself. My husband and I are currently fostering two children (ages 2 and 6 mos.) and in the process (yeah!!) of adopting our youngest foster child. We have had her since she was 11 days old and brought her home from NICU. The TPR date is set for November 5th.  In fact, we just attended our first adoption class yesterday and we are very excited.  Well, I just wanted to itroduce myself and wish everyone luck in their journey!

    Welcome to the board. Great to see more FP on the board :)

    How was the change from 1 to 2? We are licensed for 2 but nervous to accept another placement.

    Welcome!  We've been licensed foster parents since July 2011 and have not gotten any calls from our state. We are hoping and praying that it will happen soon!

    We are also f>adopt.  Our forever 9 and 11 year old (sis/bro) moved in with us at the end of June.  We hope to have finalization in February.

    Taking a break from TTC to pursue adoption

    Met our 2 year old son in Russia July 2012!
    Court trip October 2012
    Home November 24 2012!

    Back to RE Summer 2013. TTC journey continues: 

    Dx DOR, endometriosis, low sperm count 
    Clomid + IUI#1, #2 = BFN / IUI #3 = ???

    Laparoscopy scheduled December 2013

    Foster 1 Mom..

     The transition from 1 to 2 has been a big adjustment. We have had two short term FS all age 2, but our current one will be long term and has been more challenging. Most of it is working out the schedule, dealing with day care and visits. However, our current FS has some behavioral issues that is making things a little bit crazier. We are adjusting but this time it has been a little bit crazier than usual. My advice.. take it slow and add when you are ready. We moved a little too swiftly and we sometimes question our decision but know the damage it causes a child with a disruption in placement.
