Just curious what's typical for the different ages.
Last year my boys were in a 2's class the second half of the year and it was 2 teachers to 12 students. This year, same preschool, it's 2 teachers to 24 students. I knew the 3's class was a lot bigger (last year it was 22 students with the same 2 teachers) but apparently some of the other parents were concerned about it so that made me wonder if that's not typical for a 3's class.
Re: What's the teacher: student ratio at your preschool?
This year, DS is in the 35 year old class with about 15 or 16 kids and two teachers, plus an occasional floating assistant.
11 kids 4 adults...1 teacher, 1 aid, 1 special ed teacher, 1 special ed aid.
They can have as many as 18 kids. 4 kids have iep's.
Max of 8:1.
DD1 is in a class with two teachers and a max of 16 kids. I think they only get up to 16 on Tues/Thursday, and most days it's 14.

At their preschool...
2's are 14:3
3's are 14:2 or 21:3 (same ratio)
4's are 14:2 or 21:3
When I taught UPK, I had
17:3 for my 4's and same for my mixed regular preschool class

I love these two beautiful children!
DD's 4yr old class has 2 teachers and 9 students right now. They will take up to 14 with 2 teachers.
DS's pre-k class last year was 3 teacher for 21 students.
I taught pre-k for a couple years and the ratios where I worked were ridiculous. The 3s class was 1:13 or 2:22 and the 4s class was 1:15 or 2:26.
The state mandated ratios are one teacher to 10 kids (three year olds), but her school operates at one teacher to 7 kids. It's not a small school either.
My twins are 5! My baby is 3!

Last year my girls were in the 3 year old room and they were 12 kids to 2 teachers.
This year they are Pre-K and they are 18 kids to 2 teachers. They were allowed to go up to 22 kids to 2 teachers, but the school decided to keep the classes at max of 18 so the kids could have more teacher time. But they are a non-profit church based preschool.
13 kids - 1 teacher, 1 aide (one of the reasons we chose this preschool was the smaller ratio)
the max in my state is 20 to 1 teacher, 1 aide...
