My son is 27 months old and we are thinking of ttc again soon, but I am still breastfeeding and do not want to stop.
I am going for a preconception counseling appointment soon and I am scared that the ob will tell me to stop breastfeeding. I really want to find an ob that will be supportive nd that I can be open with.
Re: did your ob support you breastfeeding while pregnant?
Yes, my OB is supportive of me continuing to BF for as long as I wanted, and through pregnancy. My first appt with this pregnancy though was with a nurse practioner in my OB's office who told me how critical it was that I stop. Thankfully, I knew better, didn't listen to her, will never see her again, and we are still BFing, planning to tandem feed should my son continue to enjoy nursing as much as he does now.

My MW was totally fine with it. I did see two OBs for short appointments during my last pregnancy for insurance reasons and neither of them were phased, though a nurse told me I "had" to quit and the doctor would "make" me. He didn't care one bit. Adventures In Tandem Nursing is a great book that thoroughly covers this topic along with all sorts of other tandem nursing topics. You might want to check it out!
In terms of my own story, DS1 self-weaned at 37 weeks into my pregnancy. I had reverted to colustrum some time earlier, but then it disappeared for a couple of weeks before returning in time for our newborn.

Some people think (without any support from science) that it can cause preterm labour or that you can't nourish 2 babies at once.
In reality, many studies have shown it's safe. For mom, baby, and fetus.
