soap eating????

Does anyone else have a LO that likes to lick the soap off of their arms when giving them a bath? My DS just loves it. He laughs and giggles while doing it while watching me cringe. So needless to say he gets washed real fast so he can be rinsed off quickly. LOL!!!!

Re: soap eating????

  • Does he go it just for the reaction? DS was peeing on me when I changed his diaper. It took me a while to realize that he liked seeing my reaction. When I stopped reacting, he stopped peeing on me.

  • My LO does that also, I don't react, but she still does it.

  • Nope it's not because of the reaction. He even does it if his hands are washed with soap before he eats. He just likes the taste of it I guess.

  • many toddlers have mild forms of pica (where they eat things that aren't food).  and usually they grow out of it.  Sometimes it can mean they are anemic (depending on what they are eating) so it is good to mention it to the dr. if it is becoming an issue.

however, it could totally just be an attention thing.

My older daughter ate lotion.  it was an issue, but she grew out of it.  She no longer does it.

    ugh!
