Did anyone who did foster to adopt make photobooks for the social worker to give to the potential children after visits or for the transition? It was discussed in our class only briefly. I have found a lot online for profile books for domestic infant adoption, and those are more geared toward the birth parents.
We are looking to adopt toddler/preschool age. I am trying to keep it as simple as possible. So far I have: a picture of us, our house, yard, pets, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
I was thinking of a page of our interests with pictures (like beach, riding bikes, etc.) I could do a picture of their room, but there is not much in there right now. We were hoping to ask them before picking out decor (assuming they are somewhat verbal). Is that cheesy? I don't want it to seem like we are "selling" ourselves. I also didn't want to include too many new people (like cousins, etc).
But do you think a page like "we have a big family with lots of kids for you to play with" with pics of kids is ok?
Any other ideas? Samples?
Re: Foster to Adopt: Photo Books?
That's a good idea to do one later with the birth parents, etc.
The children we are being considered for right now are 3 and 18months.
