For me, I think it was being able to tie my own shoes/reach my own feet and having free and clear movement throughout the day..
Now I wear flip-flops 99% of the time and have to spend a minute or so focusing on my next move to psych my body out for it.
How about you? What did you most take for granted before pregnancy??
Re: JFF- What did you most take for granted before pregnancy?
This! Never even thought about it being an issue later in pregnancy, but boy it gets interesting!
I would also say sleeping on my stomach. I was a big tummy sleeper! Oh! And being able to eat or drink anything I wanted without having to think about it!
Getting comfortable at night - I wake up ever hour with sore hips. It's painful!
And walking in general without getting short of breath. I feel like I'm either terribly out of shape or 80 years old!
Talking without getting winded
Being able to bend over to ti shoes, shave legs, pick something up, etc
Rolling over in bed
Sittingup in bed without being completely winded
I'm glad to see other people agreeing with my comment. I have mentioned this to some friends and they've looked at me like I'm crazy. Maybe they're too embarrassed to say it happens to them, or it doesn't happen to them.
I thought of another one.
Feeling my hands and using them normally. I get carpal tunnel bad and with each pregnancy it has started sooner and gotten worse.
I definitely feel you on this one!! Sleeping in general is horrible, I'm also a tummy sleeper, so not sleeping on my tummy, sore hips, peeing every hour because my sore hips woke me.. yeah.
Being able to sleep through the night! I haven't had a good nights sleep since I stopped taking the diclectin @ 12wks. Now I am 35 wks and can't sleep a whole night. I have no pain or any reason besides getting up to pee that sleep is sooo elusive.
Oh and sushi, I took sushi for granted!
I guess thinking I was fat before? I am a big girl (size 22) but when I look at pics of pre-pregnancy I get sad. I'm just so uncomfortable, my hips are killing me and I feel guilty when I take the kids somewhere bc I almost end up in tears from lightening crotch and we end up cutting our day short.
And the fact that I could keep the house tidy but now I'm on strike bc my energy level is quite low and I think my kids can sense it lol
I'm not a tummy sleeper normally. I usually sleep on my sides, curled up in a ball. I can't curl up because my back hurts and now even just sleeping at all causes sore hips. I cry out in pain every time I wake up. Then when I'm done yelping, the bladder is so I have to get up and pee. I'm going every hour too
i have a few lol
answering the phone before they hang up.. by the time i get myself up and get there the phone stops ringing..
going up stairs without getting winded, rolling over in bed without getting winded...getting dressed without getting winded. you get the hint.
being able to pick something up when i drop it
shaving my legs.. guessing always leaves missed spots
seeing my lower body.. i dont know what my feet look like unless i have my legs up.... i cant tell you if i have a stain on my lower part of my shirt because my belly gets in the way when cooking and guess what i cant see it!
but it is all worth it!
See I was thinking this one, but it's my front not my ass!!!! I can still wipe my ass, wiping the front gets harder and harder everyday!!!!!!
Both to this - both is getting hard!!
Several others: bending over without tipping over, tummy sleeping, and standing up easily from our cushiony, soft sofa!
Yes to both, I feel like I have T-Rex arms.

bending and twisting! It's even hard in the car trying to check behind for cars coming so I can merge..
Also, now anytime I drop something my husband says "it's dead to you now, I'll get it for you" haha!
Oh, and another simple one, getting out of bed. It's quite the production now with carefully turning and then my husband will usually push me up and pull me up. Makes me feel so pathetic!

Being able to roll around while sleeping. Now, I have to wake completely up, roll over, get situated, get my breathing back to normal, and then try to fall back asleep. I probably do this 3 or 4 times a night.
Oh, and sleeping on my stomach.
This is me too. =(
