I am an MSPI mom and I have been lurking for a while now and think that it is about time I introduce myself. DS3 Alexander has an allergy to the protein in milk and soy so I am working on cleaning up my diet. It is tough and I could use the support of all you wonderful ladies.
We had a set back yesterday in which something I ate caused more blood so I am pretty positive that I have to eliminate soy 100% as well. I have cut dairy completely but still consuming some products with soy but it would seem that he is extra sensitive, so no soy for me.
Anyways my name is Lindsey and I have 3 boys. All had some milk allergy issues but nothing like this. Poor Alexander actually gets blood in his poop. I love nursing him and don't want to give it up so I am committed to this but it is not easy. I am sure you can all relate. Anyways, I just wanted to say hello and would love to hear about your journey and any tips you have for maintaining this lifestyle. I would also be interested to learn at what age your LO "outgrew" the allergy and (if they are older) do they continue to have allergies/sensitivities as older children.

Re: Hello
Just wanted to say hi! I'm an MSPI mama as well and it took a long time for us to figure out what was going on with LO.
Make sure you check your vitamins also, fyi. A lot are made with hidden dairy and soy.
I have 2 sons with food problems, ds1 was mspi but at that point I was working so I put him on neocate and was able to tolerate hidden milk at 12 months and milk at 20ish months
Ds2 has more issues, so far milk, soy and corn... Trailing eggs at the moment, off of wheat, nuts and seafood also... It has been tough but easier the longer I do it, thank God for enjoy life candy bars!
DD1: allergic to eggs & dairy
