A lot of you are saying your LOs are talking. When they say words, can anyone understand them?
My LO says DOG but it comes out like DAA. We are trying to emphasize the G but now she says DAA-DUH.
There's no way anyone would be able to tell she's saying dog. But, we are counting it as her first word.
It's the only thing she says.
Re: words

G is a later sound for kids to master like closer to 3-4 especially as a final sound in a word. That doesn't mean kids can't say it earlier though.
That being said, Nick does mama dada and that's about it the rest is jiberish!
She does kitty, Mom and Hi with clarity so others can understand.
Dad, Up and a few other things are only decipherable to H and I.
She knows about 10ish words total I'd say, 3 she uses with an frequency.
Mama, Papa, Dada (which he recently stopped saying), other than that nada.
When asked what sound a cow makes or what a dog makes he makes those sounds, but they may not be understood by others.
He says things that I think he says a word, but I don't count it, because even I don't understand it.
Oh yeah, bye-bye was on for a good 3 week stretch. Now he hasn't said it in about 1.5 months.
We've got 3 words here. Dadoh = dog, Da = dad, UhOh = well, Uhoh
He makes a lot of sounds though: ma, na, nu, mu, bu, ba, du, da, la, and duka
We'll miss you sweet Debbie Girl (4.21.12) and sweet Cindy Girl (8.9.12)

His most understandable word is "Bye bye"
Lol, funny story, we were shopping, he yells "Mama!" I say "What?" He says "Bye Bye!"
Our first conversation!
Other than that he says "Mine" but it's not clear to everyone, and he tries to say Doggy but he's still way off with that!
3 FETs and finally success with IVF#2!
