BF and TTC???

My LO is 13 months and we are considering starting TTC. It took just over 2 years to get LO- so I don't want to wait too long. I am currently still nursing LO in the morning and before bed. He gets frozen BM during the day. I was planning on nursing him until I had depleted my freezer stash- but when I figured it all out the other day- that would mean I would nurse for another 6 months. (Yeah I had a really good milk supply!) I know that people do get pregnant when they are still nursing- but is it harder? Should I stop nursing and let my cycle return to normal now? And advice or what what worked for you is appreciated. Thanks!

    I got pregnant twice (on the first try both times, at that!) while still BFing, but my period had been back since LO was 5mos.

    I do have my period back. Got it back around 6 months or so- and it has gotten somewhat normal now.

    It took 6 months both times we got pregnant, BFing didn't seem to affect things too much. The only problem I had was a short LP, which seems pretty common. But even with that issue, it didn't take any longer. My cycle was back around 12 months.

    BFP # 1- DS ~ TTC #2 since Jan. 2012 - BFP # 2 - "Baby Elsie" - Blighted Ovum - D&C August 22, 2012 at 7w3d, BFP # 3 - CP - December 30, 2012, BFP # 4 - CP - March 19, 2013 ~ First RE Appt. 4/24/13 Med cycle #1: 50mg Clomid and Trigger shot = BFN. Med. Cycle #2: 6 cysts found. No meds/rest cycle. Trying on our own = BFP # 5! Beta #1 = 77, Beta #2 = 129 Beta #3 = 94 - CP - July 2, 2013. BFP # 6! Beta#1 = 21, Beta#2 =58 Beta#3 = 134. U/S shows heartbeat of 142 at 7w2d!

    I also tried for two years before I got pregnant with my first child.  I had no problems getting pregnant the second or third time, and I was still BFing.  I think the second time took me five to six months to conceive, and the third time took me about four months.  Smile

    I never got my period back between DD and this pregnancy. I'm still nursing DD at least 4 times a day if not more. It took us 4 months to get pregnant with DD and one time having sex my first cycle this time around.
