Trouble TTC

Anyone ever flown with Ovidrel?

So went to the RE this morning for my monitoring appointment (CD13 today). I switched to Femara this month for IUI#3. We're going out of town tomorrow morning, and I'll have to trigger on Sunday. The pharmacy was very serious about making sure the trigger shot is refrigerated. Has anyone flown and taken one with them? Did they give you grief for the needle and did you do anything to keep it cool?

 Thanks!

  • Thanks! I checked the airline, and they said no medications or needles in checked bags. Only carry on. You just have to have a manufacturer box/label and show at security. Now I just need to figure out how to keep it cold....

  • The package insert that came with my Ovidrel said it could be kept by the consumer for 30 days at room temperature - we kept it in the fridge, anyway, but at least it's nice to know it should still work.

  • Go to Walmart and buy some small cheapy travel bottles. Fill them 2/3 with water and freeze. You can put them in your quart size bag with your trigger and go through security no problem. Don't check it! If they lose your bag you'll be in a bind.

  • Just got back from flying with my Lupron and syringes/needles in my carry on. I put it in a small Rubbermaid cooler with those plastic ice packs and had no problems. Tsa didn't even ask any questions about it.
