Aidan Wilhelm made his grand debut yesterday at 4.02pm via emergency c/s. No VBAC for this mama. Apparently, my body doesn't do dilation and my babies' hearts don't do contractions. I went into labour around 4am, got to 3min apart by 9am, went to the hospital at 1pm - and after some dicking around in triage they finally got me on monitors and once that happened all hell broke loose and they started prepping me. Never even saw a delivery room. Oh well, I can live with this.Aidan looks just like his big brother did. At 7lbs7oz he is an oz lighter and he seems a bit more delicate, but other than that.....just like Alastair. He latched well, we got skin on skin right out of he OR and I have even managed to latch and rematch with no help. Now he has been sleeping for nearly three hours. My milk is not in yet, but that's no surprise.I lost a bunch of blood and have a fever now, but I do feel ok over all. I am totally in love with my little man. Totally worth it.I sent DH home to take care of Alastair and let he ILs sleep in their own house. He'll spent the day and night tomorrow - once they make me get up, when I will actually need him. Well, photos to come. And whoever wants to share bfing tricks, especially after c/s...spill it! Anita, it is weird how I decided on trying to sing him out....and then it starts right before I do this. Anybody else went into labour that night after I logged out of the chat?
Re: So....I did not need a battle song.
Congrats!
Right after my c/s I found side lying best in the hospital bed. And ditto the Boppy.
Also, the abdominal binder was my best friend. Ask your hospital to give you one if they haven't already (I think that's what it's called - it's a big velcro brace they will put super tight around your belly to keep the flab from moving back and forth and pulling on your incision.) Once your belly is held tight BF should be easier too! GL!!
