Court attire

What did your lawyer (if you had one) advise you to wear to court, and what did you end up wearing? I do plan on asking my lawyer, whom I trust, but I am curious as to what others wore.

Re: Court attire

  • Dress like you were going on an interview (an important one). When I had court it was a little chilly, so I was able to pull off nice slacks, a blouse and a blazer with nice flats. Nothing too flashy but I didn't look like I rolled out of bed either. Hope that helps, and GL.

  • Thanks ladies. Most of my closet doesn't fit me. None of my suits or skirts come close to looking like they fit and my belly still has a deflated water ballon thing going on from LO. I have pants and blouses, so it doesn't sound like I need to go shopping for a new outfit.

I also wanted to add that my lawyer said no designer purses either. I have no clue how much that effects anything but it was said to me.

  • I could see how anything designer or flashy would be a 'no, no'. It might send the signal of 'hey, i want money to support my child but i have no problem buying $200 purses and shoes". I went to target on the way home last night and bought every style of control top panty hose and plan on having a fashion show today with my pants...... ugh post baby body sucks!
