Since I was cooking dinner last night and too busy to take Elliana out to her beloved outdoors, she decided to open the sliding door in the dining room and venture out herself. My poor heart! I didn't even know she did it. I knew she was playing over by the door but she does that all the time and that's where her laugh and learn house is. I heard her voice sound like it came from outside, glanced out the kitchen window and saw her right beside the three steps leading down from the sliding door. I went and retrieved her and just started thanking God that she didn't fall face first down those three steps. Guess we need to keep that door locked now. I had no idea she was capable of opening it. Phew!!

    Little smartypants! She has turned into an escape artist, lol. Glad you got her before she decided she wanted to try going down the stairs!

    I think she did try to go down them, she was on the ground beside the stairs which means she fell or scooted off them onto the ground. I'm not sure how it happened, I'm just thankful it happened the way it did instead of her falling face first down the them instead of falling or scooting off to the side which is how it appeared.

    Yikes! Owen freaked us out and opened the screen door a couple times. Luckily we were right there and he didn't get out - worst thing if he did because we are three floors up! And our current porch is not to code or safe at all for a toddler (getting new ones soon thankfully!)

    I can't help but giggle thinking of Elli over there just banging on the door or leaning on it to look out and *sliiiide* and her "oh, heck yes!" expression she probably made as she scrambled out the door. :) 

    Don't feel bad! You got her in time and 3 steps isn't the worst thing either.

    Haha, YES!! I can totally picture her face as she scrambled out the door as fast as she could before "the mommy" could ruin her fun.
