Window shopping for convertible carseats

I looked at Target & BRU today. Some of those seats look like space ships. They are so huge! I really liked the Graco Nautilus. It didn't seem so bulky. I was hoping to catch a Britax on sale but I wasn't lucky. Does anyone have experience with the nautilus or any other suggestions?

Re: Window shopping for convertible carseats

  • The Nautilus isn't a convertible. It is not RFing. We are getting this seat for DS when DD needs his convertible.

  • We have the Evenflow Symphony for DS and really like it. We will probably get another for DD when she needs a RF convertable carseat. I highly recommend it!

  • We used an Eddie Bauer convertible for DD. We didn't use it as rear-facing, although it could have been. It's pretty huge, but the nice thing is we can use it as a booster now, up to 100 pounds.

  • Diono is a convertible to booster.  It's apparently very slim and very safe (former brand name was Sunshine Kids for those with Baby Bargains). Very expensive though at around $300 CDN

  • We currently have a MyRide for DS. We have used it for over 2 years and really love it. DS was RFing until 24.5 months when he got too tall for it, he was 38", 26.8 lbs at his 2 year well check. I never expected to make it to 2 given his height.

This might be the prettiest car seat I've ever seen. Click on the "spring" pattern if it doesn't automatically show up.

  • I"m hoping to get the Britax Marathon, but whoa they are pricey!!
  • I have the Evenflo Triumph 65. It had high ratings with Consumer Report and a nice pattern while still reasonably priced.
i wish i could be joking but my dad is the music teacher at a church so he owuld be mad. we had sex, all the time how bad i know but we dont want to wait and he said GREAT OH KAY! and I was really feeling the wets? down there- too embarsed to say- but he acted like man.

I bought this in Shadow when it was 20% off. Spring is very pretty though.

Love our older model radian! Definitely getting the newer version when needed... They are heavy though with the metal frame

  • Right now I am leaning toward the diono radian. I like that it is slim; I drive a compact SUV. Also, I like the higher weight limit for rear facing.

  • For reference: I have a Honda Accord, and my Britax Roundabout takes up less space than my Graco SnugRide. I was able to scoot the seat back at least two (maybe three) notches.

  • I know someone already mentioned it, but we just bought a Nautilus for DD1 because it only faces forward and is used like a booster, you cannot install it rear facing.

For a convertible seat, I love Britax. We have two Britax Boulevards and they take up less space then the infant seat because they aren't as reclined.

eta: I have found good sale prices for Britax on Amazon and albeebaby.com.

This!  We're most likely getting a Britax Marathon70-G3, and albeebaby.com has them the cheapest anywhere I saw (besides Amazon).
