Does it hurt? When I had my son I got an epidural and when I went in for my c-section they just made some adjustments. The epidural didn't hurt since the contractions were horrible. I am just really nervous about the Spinal. Any info would be great. TIA.

Re: Spinal Question
Don't know if this helps at all...but I don't remember! DS1 was the same thing that you had, DS2 was planned c-section and that is what I was most nervous for. I hate, needles, shots, etc.
They did a great job of just keeping things moving, I didn't have time to think about it really. It probably did sting a bit for a second...but I really don't recall!
Of course now I'm really curious!
Not at all. I was so scared about the spinal and then when you are in there it happens so fast you flinch and it's over.
They numb you first then do the spinal and you feel your legs starting to fall asleep.
Goes very quick
No worries
No pain with my first two at all - tiny sting when the numbing stuff went in, and before I knew it I wasn't feeling anything from the waist down. With the third they had some trouble finding the correct spot, so there were more pokes as they tried to get things going. Even so, that was more of a minor discomfort than a pain.
Stay calm, it will help them get their job done faster.

Uhh... I don't know about the PP, but my 3 spinals did hurt. At least, the numbing needle hurt, and you had to keep your back rounded, which was hard for me.
It does hurt, for me it did, but just for a few minutes while he's poking the needle in (just tell them "oww" and they adjust). Then it works and no longer hurts but yes, it hurt.
Also, I was itchy post c/s, esp in the spot the spinal went in.
W/ DD (my first spinal) it was a pinch to numb and then I felt nothing. It was so freaking simple and painless that I way underestimated how the next would go. W/ DS (2 weeks ago), I sat the wrong way and it took them 4 times to get it in. I felt it and it was not fun. By the time they got it in (30 minutes later) H was pacing the halls wondering why it took so long to bring him in. I was on the verge of getting hysterical. My OB was having a hard time keeping me calm but I got through it. The memory fades b/c as I laid there before they took DS out, I said to H that I would never do this again b/c I never wanted another spinal. Two weeks later, I've changed my tune a bit.

Um yeah, mine hurt. The tube thing they insert kept hitting wrong spots. Apparently the numbing stuff didn't work well. They had to give me more than the usual amount of epidural to make sure I didn't feel anything. I did tell them that I tend to wake up with anesthesia. I have a feeling my body just doesn't recognize it unless it's an obscene amount.
I was so drugged up I was singing "I like candy" while having the csection. I barely remember them showing me either my son or daughter.
