Melissa and Doug shopping cart

Does anyone have the M&D shopping cart? It is a good price right now but DH thinks she will damage the house with it because it is metal. We saw a little girl with it at the mall and it was so stinking cute I really want to get it. Can you help me convince DH that it will be fine? TIA!

I can't really help you with the convincing part, but just wanted to say that in the preschool in the school district I work in, they have that shopping cart in the house area of the room and let me tell you....the kids LOVE it! They take turns playing mommy and daddy and push the cart along and fill it with food. It's so stinking cute!

We have it (after destroying 2 plastic ones in 4 years!) Love it, and no walls have been damaged with a rowdy 4 year old and 18 month old. They actually seem to like it even more than the plastic ones! Good investment

We have it because it looked way sturdier than the plastic ones that the wheels fall off on and all that. DD loves it but it's so heavy she has a hard time pushing it on the carpet. The little black nub things you see in the picture are stoppers so it can't slam into a wall. We haven't had any issues yet. I could see it damaging something if it was slammed into it hard enough but we will also teach her to push gently. I hope to be able to take it grocery shopping as a special treat now and then when she gets older.
