(I really hope I have no 'lurkers' on this board or this is going to be awkward)
My MIL just forwarded me an article that she found on CNN.com about how children with autism make easy targets for bullying.
I think she was trying to be helpful but really? Why would you send me that on Chris's first day of pre-school? So now I get to read about how my kid is more likely to get bullied, less likely to realize it's happening and nobody will probably know because he won't know to report it.
Thanks. Thanks a lot.
Re: Thanks, but really? (mini vent)
Ok apparently she hit 'send' too quickly. My BIL has Aspergers and she was forwarding me that article because she said that she used to always get mad when teachers and principals would complain that the problem child was her son and not the other kids. Apparently he was bullied during recess but being a bigger boy, he was accused of being the bully.
Still not great but at least not as bad as I thought it to be originally.
*sigh*
Yeah, those articles make my heart sink.

Hmmm, I'm going to have to look into those materials - so I can help both boys when they enter 'big boy' school
