Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Dinner Time ??

My son is just about twenty months old and has always been a not do good sleeper. What we usually do around 8:00 at night is cuddle in my bed while he has a sippy of warm milk, he doesn't always drink it. Then I put him in his crib just about asleep. He has night terrors maybe once a week or less and last night he woke up screaming and pointed to the door then pointed downstairs then once downstairs he pointed to the fridge. He asked for toast and ate toast at 1230am...my question is, is my 530 dinner too early for him? He is up for the day no later then 630am because I need to be at work at seven and he goes to daycare at my work. Do you ladies think I should try a later dinner snd earlier bedtime?? Any suggestions would be nice!

Re: Dinner Time ??

  • Our dinner time is not always consistant.

So on the days we have a 5:30 dinner we offer DS a snack before bed, either some toast or warm cereal

If we have dinner at 6:30-7, when we get home we offer a small snack before dinner

  • Loading the player...
  • We usually eat at 5:30. DS gets a snack before bed (like 7:30). We put him to bed about 8. He gets up about 6 or 15, so it's a similar schedule to your LO.
  • I think I'm going to have to start givIng him a snack. Thank you ladies for your input :

  • DD eats around 5:30 or 6 and goes to bed at 7. If she was up until 8 or later, she'd need a snack.
