I'm chairing the bookfair this year at J's preschool. At the end of the week long BF we have a family night with games and activities for the kids and their siblings. The theme of the scholastic fall fair this year is "All-Star". Thankfully that's much better than the Outer Space one that went right over their heads last year.
I want to have 4 stations (each in its own classroom) with things for them to do, once the kids do them they'll collect a star that will go on a special reader certificate at the end and they'll get a sucker. Anyways, back to what I need help with.
Room 1: We'll have either policeman, fireman or even maybe high school kids in their sports uniforms reading a book to kids that come in.
Room 2: Make a craft, we'll probably go with the homemade bookmark, easy and appropriate for the event
Room 3: Short religious type cartoon & popcorn
Room 4: I'm stuck!! I'm thinking it needs to definitely be a game but I'm totally drawing a blank on a good game. All that I keep seeing in my head are games we usually play at the carnival later in the year.
Can anyone think of a reading inspired active game? The ages of the preschoolers are 3-5.
Re: I need ideas......
Maybe something like this: clothes pin/ letter matching with sports words.

You could do some games that are like fair games but with a reading twist. Toss a beanbag in the matching bucket. The beanbag could have the word(picture) of something All-star related on it and the bucket the same and the children would have to match the words and get the matching words together.
Sorry I wasn't the best of help, I can see games in my head but it is hard to explain them.
