Will I need a Sit and Stand?

I am due in 5 weeks and DD will be 4 in January.  She actually uses her stroller now more than when she was 2 (finally figured out a ride is a nice way to travel).  Anyway we are going to Disney in March (baby will be about 5 months).  I am debating if I should get a Sit and Stand or just take the single stroller and wear the baby if dd wants to ride. I am thinking DD may do a lot of riding in the stroller as the last time we went she was so overwhelmed by the crowds she sat nicely.

Any thoughts or suggestions of Sit and Stands would be much appreciated. TIA

I agree, I just wore my third son.. my 3 yr old started preferring to ride his bike or walk than riding in the stroller.

  • I personally would get the sit n stand. I have a moby would use that, but I would also need to put the baby down for a bit. I would like to have options available to me. The sit n stand would give you a rest your older kiddo rying2 chance to ride too. Disney is a lot of walking I'm sure there will be tired legs.

I'm due in November DS will be 4 in February, so the age gap is about the same. I'm getting the sit n stand ultra because of the different ways you can configure it.

  • I would either plan to wear the baby and just use your one stroller or get a regular double stroller.  I would not use a sit and stand for Disney as your 4 year old is going to want to sit so you would end up wearing the baby anyway

  • If you can, I would get a double. DD would want to sit and you will need to put the baby down some.

  • I would wear the baby because I wouldn't want to buy a stroller mostly for a Disney trip.  I don't think an almost 4 year old needs to be in a stroller very often, at that age they are old enough to walk most of the time.  A Disney trip or some other place with a ton of walking is obviously different.

  • Our age difference is similar. Friends gave us their sit and stand and we have used it twice in 5mos. If #1 needs her stroller we wear #2.

For Disney I would take one stroller and wear the baby as you have the option to rent a stroller if you have to. I think they may rent doubles as well.

  • I wanted to be able to use a sit and stand but DS weighed too much.  He hasn't been using a stroller at all recently and he really doesn't miss it.  If I were doing Disney, I would do like the other PP said and wear the baby if DD wanted to use the stroller.
  • Absolutely get a sit and stand. We're Central Florida locals and we bought our sit and stand specifically for use at theme parks. We take it with us each and every time we go to Disney. Our particular stroller has a "sit" option along with a stand option for our oldest, and it works great for when he needs breaks.

You can rent a stroller at Disney from Disney itself or one of the trillion companies that rent them and the prices are not bad at all - we are renting a double stroller for our Disney trip next month.  Disney is a ton of walking and my 4 1/2 year old is not a big walker.  My 6 year old is a walker but I totally expect her to get tired on a trip like Disney plus with a double stroller, I will have lots of space to stash everything we bring with us into the park so I don't have to hold it all day.

  • For Disney I'd want a double. Renting would be ideal if it's not too pricey...then you wouldn't have to worry about it taking up space during travel. Otherwise I'd try to borrow one from someone or find one cheap at a garage sale or off craigslist. (I bought our double at a garage sale for $35 in practically new condition.)
