  We didn't give Edie an actual gift for her 1st bday.  We splurged and had a photographer come out and photograph her party.  We'll prob do that with Adeline too.

  i wish i could be joking but my dad is the music teacher at a church so he owuld be mad. we had sex, all the time how bad i know but we dont want to wait and he said GREAT OH KAY! and I was really feeling the wets? down there- too embarsed to say- but he acted like man.

  Honestly, I'm not sure I will give a gift, I have a large family, and there will be plenty.  If I do, I'd do it on our own, since we will not be having a "party" per se, just dinner with family.

  I'll probably do what my parents did with my brother and I. We opened our gifts from them on the morning of our actual birthday, while our parties were usually the next weekend (unless our birthday happened to fall on a Saturday).

  Mmm, I think that's kind of weird. I will probably give them their gifts in the morning of their birthday or before the party.

  We always give the kids their gifts from us the morning of their birthdays. Usually their party isn't until the weekend, so we want to make sure they get to celebrate ON their birthdays too.

  This is apparently sometimes a hot topic on the bump...for our area, I have only been to one kid's birthday party where gifts have been opened at the party at all. And I have been to a LOT of parties, lol. So, what we do is always give our gifts on the actual birthday (which is rarely the same day as the party). I usually set up balloons, the gift, etc the night before so they wake up their birthday morning to them Then, gifts received at the birthday party are opened post party. Gifts shipped from family, etc. art opened as they are received.

  Yeah, that's weird. It's one thing to give them the gift at the party, but to rewrap just so others can see is braggy. I haven't given much thought to it, but ill probably give her the gift the day of her actual birthday, and if it happens to land on a weekend, then she can wait til her party
