In an effort...

...to see something (or anything) on TB other than this mole crap, I have a question.

What light weight stroller are you using? We have been using the snap-n-go for the car and BOB for around the neighborhood. A will be outgrowing her car seat soon so we will need a new stroller too.

I want a stroller smaller than one that would come with a travel system but larger than a umbrella stroller. Any recommendations?

Re: In an effort...

  • Our everyday neighborhood stroller is a Micralite Toro. It's lightweight technically at 18lbs, but it's definitely a full size stroller.

I wanted a stroller like you described, smaller than full size, but better than a tiny umbrella stroller. I ordered a First Years Ignite Stroller and it came in the mail today! We'll hopefully try it out for the first time tomorrow (I couldn't find one in a store nearby), and I'll let you know how it goes!

It has a small basket, seat reclines, canopy, and small bag/cupholder for me, so I'm hoping that we like it!

  • It's not exactly cheap and not sure if it qualifies as light but we love our City Mini!

Have heard good things about the First Years Jet too for a cheaper alternative.

  • I'm not sure if you can get in the US, but we have a Tippitoes light weight stroller and I love it. It's very light weight and easy to open and close. It also came with a canopy, rain cover (a must here), and storage basket. It sells for about ?60 which I think is about $100 USD.

  • We have the Maclaren Volo, and it's very easy to manuever.  However, the shoulder straps are a little loose on DS, and the seat doesn't recline at all.  I've seen other ones out there that I would have gotten if I'd known.

  • we're looking to get a maclaren (anything but the volo) on CL if we end up needing one. so far it hasn't been an issue, we just use the bob or put him in the ergo.

  • we have the city mini & use it for everything as well. i like it b/c it's very light & easy to close. it has a huge sun shade which i love as well. b4 that i was using the snap n go.
  • We tried out our First Years Ignite stroller today, and I really like it. It pushed easy, folded open and closed easy (it works like an umbrella stroller). It was sprinkly and the canopy is not that large so her legs got wet, but I was happy to have any canopy at all on a small stroller. The basket is way to small for a diaper bag, but with LO in the stroller it hung on the handles and the stroller was not going to tip over. It does tip over w/o her in it though (but that seems obvious).

When she's a bit older I think we'll get a clip on snack cup. Now I just hope it lasts, but theres no way to know that yet.
