I am worried as previously she stated that her "world was about to turn upside down," and never elaborated. So, in her honor, I'd like to do a late Wellness Wednesday check-in. Hopefully, she'll find her way back to us!!
So, report on your progress toward your goal, please. Also, let us know if you need a kick in the seat... We're good for that!! ![]()
QOTW: What is your motivator? Where have you found your inspiration?
Re: I think Mananana is lost... Wellness Wednesday (late)
Kick me in the butt I need to get back with working out I feel off the wagon
Just with the holiday that passed and work being super busy I have not ran or did my Shred.
I was planning on starting over tomorrow.
I have been eating right.
What is your motivator? You ladies and Cute Clothes!
Where have you found your inspiration? By seeing people I know lose so much weight and are looking great!
I have been slacking
I started school and fitting in running between homework and the baby is hard, so I'm only running about twice a week. I'm running 3 miles though in a relatively good time so I'm happy. I have a race the 23rd so I'm excited!
I can't really what my motivation is, I mean it's lots of things, somewhat selfish reasons (look good, do something for myself) and I just need to have something to define myself with, I'm a runner, not just a mom.
Where have I found my inspiration, hmm...pinterest? LOL. Seriously though, it's just knowing a few moms who are also runners and manage to do it all, helps me think that I can do it all too.
Why not start today? If you have made poorer than you hoped for choices already today, start now. Make a better choice right now. If you "can't" get in a workout today, just eat fewer calories today. Make your snacks fruits and vegetables for the rest of the day. Get out and at least take a brisk walk on your lunch, or if you have to run errands... park farther away from the entrance than normal.
Thin/Fit people aren't ON all the time. They are just ON an overwhelming majority of the time. The trick is to find the balance. So, you had a "bad" weekend, no need for it to taint the rest of your week. Leave it in the past and don't beat yourself up.
You think that I've had a perfect run of this? Not even close. I find my motivation in everyone's personal achievements on the day-to-day. If you get your ass in gear for the rest of the day, that will motivate me to get my ass in gear and get my Jillian Michaels on during naptime and my 3 miles in this evening. Do it, Duff!! I'm counting on you.
I want you to come back to this thread and check in after you've done something "good" for yourself today. It doesn't have to be huge or monumental. Just take ONE step in the right direction. Please!!
I love the way you think JK! I will you are so right. I think I need to recheck myself and start thinking in this type of manner. I will do something today and check back. Thank you.
You have a race on the 23rd... that's fantastic!! I am excited for you as well. I know the adrenaline for me on race day is totally different than a middle of the week run.
Any dramatic change in schedule is going to throw you off for a hot second. Give yourself some slack as you ease yourself into a new schedule. Remember, Someone who is busier than you is running right now. You'll figure it out, Cootie.
Taking a break in the middle of HW might help clear your mind if you get stuck or are just sick and tired of sitting in one place staring at the same damn page for a half hour.
If you're getting 2 long runs in per week right now, try to get in one shorter run with some intervals. It shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes and it can just as easily kick your ass if you do it right. Once you've figure out how to do this, just start adding in little 15-20 minute interval runs or Jillian Michaels whenever you can.
Next time you find yourself sitting on the couch, just stand up and move. It doesn't have to be a 30-60 minute thing if you legitimately don't have the time.
Get your butt out there as soon as you can!!
QOTW: What is your motivator? Where have you found your inspiration?
My motivator is MyFitnessPal.com. All my friends I have added on there are WONDERFUL, and when I track my food and exercise, I am able to control my portions better and really see why I am losing or not losing weight.

I am proud to say I am now on to weight lifting! I started with a trainer this week, and man...I am SORE! I want bigger arms and legs, so I will have to gain some weight back, but it will be good weight. : )
I am still doing my 6-Pack in 6-Weeks Training three days a week, and will be done on Sept 20th. After that-- I move on to PX90.
I've had a really bad week and a half or so - I had a friend visiting, so we were on the go a lot with site-seeing, so we ate out a lot. (Not fast food, just more food than I normally eat.) And then we made waaaay too many cupcakes for DS's party (some people who RSVP'd didn't show up...boo), so I had about two dozen cupcakes left. Bah. They were delicious. So far, I'm cupcake-free today (it's not even 8am here yet), and I plan to throw out what's left.
But I did have some good moments - we did some pretty awesome hiking, and I was a lot more active than usual since we were out and about most days. I took a nice walk yesterday, but lost track of time last night and didn't get in 30DS. I'll be back on track tonight.
My biggest motivator is when DH asks me about my workout. Well...also that my clothes are a bit snug at the moment.
Geez I have been slacking lately. I was rollerblading 13.2kms 5 days a week and since I went to Vegas I only went once and just did 6.6kms.
Im going this afternoon and forcing myself. I downloaded a bunch of new tunes for my ipod and I checked the air in my tires of the chariot yesterday as well. I also did sit ups for the first time in a long time last night because I found an old picture of me and my abs looked amazing. Its now my screen saver on my laptop so I can stare at that all day long until I get them back.
Add me as another who has fallen off the workout wagon since last Wednesday. We were consumed last week by DD's bday party, which was on Sunday. And we're having a tough time getting into the groove with DH's new school/work schedule and me trying to pick up the pace around the house.
BUT....I will get up right now and go defrost something healthy for a real dinner instead of the frozen meal crap that I was planning on making. OK, done!
My current motivator: We are talking about TTC baby #2. I want to be in the best shape possible, as well as expand our regular menu to include more healthy choices. I am really happy that I am 20 pounds under my pre-pregnancy weight, but I know that there is always room for improvement!
Phew! Went for a run
Feels great to sweat! Thanks JK
I'm gonna need a full report on the alumni game!! This year was my first year back for an alum game (for obvious weight/pregnancy reasons), and I had a great time!!
Excellent, Ee!! That makes me really happy to hear!! I think your series of before and after shots have made a lot of us really question our dedication. Obviously, we all have different body types, but the results are undeniable!! Keep up the strong work!! I'm really proud of you, I hope you are too!!
I wanna know how 30DS went for you. What level are you on? When do you anticipate moving up? Any plans for post-30DS? Is hiking something that you see you and your family being able to get out and do on a regular basis? Like, could it possibly become your "thing?"
Don't stress about the birthday cupcakes... throw them out!! And then dump crap all over them. No need to tempt yourself into garbage diving (yes, people do this!).
Have a GREAT breakfast tomorrow, and make sure that you set yourself up for a great weekend. Plan something fun outdoors!! Hope to hear good things from you next Wednesday!!
6 pack and a mommyhawk... We don't stand a chance!! Hawt!!
I love this idea with the iPod. There is NOTHING that good music and getting out of the house can't cure. I swear, something about music just changes my mood and makes me want to move!!
I hope you guys enjoy your regularly scheduled blading. I love that!! I think it's second only to running on the calorie burning scale. I have a friend who is TOTALLY in to blading with her daughter in the stroller. I love seeing pictures of her on the beach path rollerblading in shades. So cool!! I envy!!
This is excellent!! This is not huge, nor is it crazy time consuming. I am so happy that you were able to pull whole foods out of the freezer and make a "real meal." Good for you!!
Now, get your butt back on the active wagon!! Next Wednesday, I wanna see a post from you that makes you sound proud of yourself. Seriously, this is all for you... Nobody else. It will lift your self-esteem and you will be happier if next Wednesday you don't "hide" from this post, but you get to BOAST that you killed some workouts -- got some miles under your belt, did some lifting, got out of doors for ANYTHING active!!
Baby #2 is absolutely a great motivator. A healthy mom is always best for baby!!
THANK YOU!! That's awesome!! Duff, you should seriously be incredibly proud of yourself. You said you would do SOMETHING and you went and did it. There is nothing like it -- dedication!! That alone will see you through to your goals!!
I'm glad you at least have your priorities straight... and, if you've already explained where you were, I'm sorry for making you re-hash it all. I was just worried that something was really falling apart... Not that a million little things crashing in is any better, but I digress.
Sorry about your cat. That's terribly sad.
Boo for "family stuff." Can't the family figure out you've got stuff going on and you need to be able to focus on your own little corner of the world!?!
Good for you for taking care of youngsters. That's awesome that you can be a resource for things they need to succeed in school!! Kudos!!
Baby time is always more important than working out. When there's just not enough time to budget in a workout, something has to suffer. And, not that you needed validation, but ITA that baby comes first!!
I'm happy to hear about your running pace. That's phenomenal!! I'm glad you're still finding time to hit the pavement... It doesn't sound like it's easy around your house these days!!
I don't have a problem taking over if you want me to. When you get things straightened out and you feel like coming back with a vengeance, please feel free to take it back. In the meantime, I'll post WW for 'ya!!
Just check in... I'll be looking for a sign that you're still around and still sane!!
Take care of yourself and that little family of yours!!
