TTC after 35

New to The Bump

Hi Everyone,

I joined the bump a few months ago when I first started to try to conceive. This is my first post though so I thought I would introduce myself. I just turned 35 years old and got married in February. My husband and I have been together for 6 years though and are more then ready to start a family. We started TTC as soon as we were married.  Unfortunately I have had 2 miscarriages back to back since February. Both of the miscarriages were at 4 weeks. I met with my doctor yesterday and since I am 35 and have already had 2 early miscarriages she is recommending that I meet with an OB. I have an appnt for various blood tests, an ultra sound, and an OB appnt in Oct. I am trying so hard to stay positive but I have to admit that having 2 miscarriages in a row at 35 years old is a bit scary. I have always pictured myself having a family with children and really never thought that it would be so difficult to conceive. Especially since so many of my friends and family members seem to get pregnant with ease. I have read alot of your posts and they are very encouraging. I am looking foward to meeting with the OB to try to find out what is going on with my body and why it doesn't seem to want to cooperate with me :-)

Re: New to The Bump

  • Welcome!  So sorry to hear about your MCs - I can see why you would be worried.  But it sounds like you have a good plan in the works.  Let us know how it goes.
Me 39 & suspected PCOS, DH 42. Went off BCP when we got married in 11/11, seriously TTC since 3/12.  Six cycles of clomid = BFNs.  Suspected endometriosis & HSG showed both tubes blocked.  Sept 2013 IVF 5D transfer of two perfect embryos = BFN.  Started acupuncture and taking time off to drop some pounds & get healthier before FET in April 2014.

  • I am so sorry for your losses. If I may make a recommendation, I would suggest going to see a reproductive endocrinologist over an ob. They are trained better to help with getting pregnant as Obs are more trained in what to do when one gets pg. Just my opinion from my own experiences. Wishing u the best.

  • This.  Exactly.  Have a full workup.  Could be a somewhat easy fix.  Good luck!
