Nap Nanny?

Any of you moms use one of these?

It looks super comfy, but I can't decide if I'm looking at it from a grown-up standpoint, as in I'd want one for myself, or a baby standpoint.  I'm thinking about sticking it on my registry, and it's got good reviews, but I don't know if it's just gimmicky or actually useful.

Re: Nap Nanny?

  • Honestly, it's kind of silly. Your better off getting a Rock n Play.

  • Not worth it, it's $100+ for a VERY single use item.  It doesn't allow for rocking or anything.  You'd be better of either buying one used, or investing in the RnP.

I thought that thing was recalled? I have heard it is good for reflux and considered it, but it was way overpriced and looked a little dangerous.
    It WAS recalled.  Article: https://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml10/10309.html

Also, I looked at their website & the pictures of it's use.  You'd get the same function from a bouncer.   https://www.napnanny.com/

I was given one, and I don't get it. It can't be put on an elevated surface or in a crib, so that leaves...the floor? I have a 70 lb dog, I can't leave the baby sleeping on the floor.

I agree that RNP is a better (and more affordable) option.

That's bizarre.  Do people actually put their infant down for a nap on the floor?

Thanks for the opinions, ladies.  I figured it wasn't worth the money, it definitely seemed way overpriced for what basically looks like a big foam curvy lump.  I have to admit, though, it does look comfy.  But for mommy.  Not necessary for baby :)

  • Lurker here!  I used the Nap Nanny, I love it!  We have a large ottoman in front of our couch and put the Nap Nanny on that.  I also put it next to my bed and he slept there for a long time.  It was also nice because even when he wasn't sleeping I felt better putting him in that rather than the floor and our swing was battery operated so I didn't want to waste batteries.  It worked for us and I also can't compare it to the RnP.

Yeah, that would be an elevated surface.

    ::facepalm::

  • I loved out nap nannies. But then again, I had one of two babies with reflux and it made double feeding by myself a LOT easier. I'm not sure I would use them if I just had one baby without reflux though.

  • As pointed out, it has been recalled.  Another vote for a RNP.

  • I totally would want one for me.

Stay at home mom to a house of boys: two amazing stepsons, 12 and 9, and our 4 year old.

    lol

Another vote for a rock n play from me. Z loved hers and slept in it until she was about 4 months. It fit beside the bed and it's lightweight and portable. And it's about half the cost depending on which color you get!

That being said, I would love one for me. That does look comfy!
