I have discovered this amazing invention known as the crockpot. Here is the issue... All I know how to do in the crock pot is soups/stews. Its still a bit warm for these and quite frankly we are growing tired. We are adventurous eaters but I am not sure what cooks well vs what sucks when cooked in a crock pot plus a couple recipes I tried from an online site fell really short.
I am looking for any crock pot recipes that are yummy, I can put together in less than 20 minutes in the morning and is a complete meal! Vegetarian ideas are very welcome as well. Websites or blogs you use are also very welcome! I am also open to things that can prep say on the weekends, then freeze and pop in the oven for a few hours.
Thank you so much in advance ladies!!!
Re: Food lovers... come on in as I need help!
OMG I HEART my crockpot!! I make lots of things and honestly almost anything you make in an oven can be adapted for the cp. I make: ribs, chicken (whole, breasts, or casseroles), roast, chili, soups, stews, rice pudding, granola, baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, meatloaf, stuffed peppers, cabbage rolls, pulled pork/beef/chicken,...you get the idea. This website has a lot of ideas and there is a search function so you could type in a recipe you like or an ingredient and bam lots of ideas from her website!

We love to cook and would love to use ours more. Thanks for asking this 2m2b - now we are totally going to check it out. Oh boy!
I totally love my crockpot! You can make tons of different things, but I avoid anything with dairy and I will only cook chicken breasts in it if for a limited amount of time. I love skinnytaste.com for crock pot recipes. Her pork carnitas is AMAZING.
Thank you ladies! I have now bookmarked both those sites. It's menu planning time!!!!!!

Kahlua Pork -
NEED: pork shoulder , salt, liquid smoke
rinse shoulder
add salt - cover surface of pork with salt ( i went lighter on this as ppl can add later ) we re not big salters
(piece should fit snugly in pot -it will reduce)
add 2tbl of liquid smoke ( it make your house wreak so we do it outside)
we did not have to add any liquid but at the 5 hour mark check to make sure there is liquid if none add a bit of water )
cook 6-8 hours on high when pork just falls apart shred and
we served it on a kings Hawaiian bun with a side of colslaw (redcab green cab salt pepper redwine vinegar olive oil and other spices)
Spicey chicken ( you can make as spicy or not as you want

Crockpot=magic. I recently discovered that instead of standing over a stove all day I could make a bolognese sauce in the damn thing.
Yum.
