    Michaela is the correct spelling.

    I love Michaela Beth! Mikayla and Makayla look unclassy. I'm just going to say it, those spellings make it seem like a ghetto name. (Sorry, I couldn't think of a nicer way to say that).

    Michaela is so classic and beautiful while Mikayla/Makayla look made up. And really, Michaela is probably more uncommon nowadays.

    I've personally never been a fan of the "CH" spelling, but judging by the responses on this thread it looks pretty popular.

    I prefer Mikayla because it's phonetically correct.

    I agree it's likely the original spelling. But I always lean towards the phonetically-correct versus what spelling came first. Just my taste.

    Oh silly me I didn't see Michaela as one of her TWO options.

    Personally I like Mikayla.

    How on earth does Michael turn into Mikayla just by adding an "a"?  I personally wouldn't want to have to correct people my whole life who mispronounce my name Michael-a.
