Pregnant again.

I just got a positive test today and even though we have been trying, Im surprised. This was our 5th cycle and I was only keeping track of my periods. I had what I thought was a period in July, but it was really light, just spotting really.

Anyways, now we decide if we are going to do a CVS or Amnio or nothing. My vote is nothing, DH wants to know one way or another. It won't change anything but he is a planner by nature. We had a loss between my 2 boys and it was due to a chromosome abnormality, but we didn't do any further testing. Part of me wants to know and the other is like eh, it is what it is.

Im not telling anyone in the real world for a while so I had to share with someone. Sorry if this is so random.

    Thanks! I am excited, I just was surprised b/c I had what I thought was my period lol. Also, we had pretty much decided to just pursue adoption instead and I was wrapping my mind around that. Thanks again!!

    squeee! babies! Congrats!

    We did a CVS for Nate that didn't show anything. (deletions too small) I will probably be doing it again anyway simply beacuse I am a need to know person. If I weren't going to deliver at a hospital with a Level 3 NICU, I would want this info so I could make an informed decision about hospital choices.

    DD1(4):VSD & PFO (Closed!), Prenatal stroke, Mild CP, Delayed pyloric opening/reflux, Brachycephaly & Plagiocephaly, Sacral lipoma, Tethered spinal cord, Compound heterozygous MTHFR, Neurogenic bladder, Urinary retention & dyssynergia, incomplete emptying, enlarged Bladder with Poor Muscle Tone, EDS-Type 3. Mito-Disorder has been mentioned

    DD2(2.5): Late term premie due to PTL, low fluid & IUGR, Reflux, delayed visual maturation, compound heteroygous MTHFR, PFAPA, Bilateral kidney reflux, Transient hypogammaglobulinemia, EDS-Type 3

    Congrats!  LA's quirk would not be detected by any prenatal testing, but I feel knowledge is power so we are doing all of it with this LO.  Results won't change the outcome, but if something were detected, we could prepare/research before the baby comes.

    Thanks again everyone!

    Im really torn b/c I don't think Im willing to doing an amnio or cvs, so it would just be numbers to me. My DD only had shortened femurs show up before we had the amnio. If we hadn't of done the NT scan and the bloodwork, we wouldn't have known about her Ds until she was born. I will be followed by a peri again b/c of my risks.

    It justs a tough call to make. Im fine not knowing but I want my husband to have peace too.
