After doing some research, reading, and talking over both options with my midwife, we have decided to use Oral Vit K in 3-4 doses instead of the IM Injection.I'm off to p/u today!
Anyone else bothered by the pain/bruising, bonding disruption of an Inj? Or do you prefer to just have it over with?

We planned the injection w/ DS1 for various reasons, but his birth was difficult so it even made it a better choice in our minds when the time came. We'd been through so much getting him out that I don't think it phased him or me. I didn't see any bruising and our bonding was pretty great.
That said, for DS2 we planned oral (unless there was difficulty) as we prefer the gentler option, the lower dose of Vit K, and my CPM cannot administer the injection in my state despite her credential, so we would've had to go to urgent care to get it. DS2's birth and aftercare was much gentler in a zillion ways, which I preferred, so Vit K was just one part of the huge difference between the hospital (DS1) and not (DS2).
I think we'll elect oral with any future births that are similarly gentle. We talked about skipping it altogether, but DH wasn't comfortable with that tiny "what if" and we didn't see a compelling downside to the oral version.

All of this. It can be a life saving treatment and has pretty much zero risks. My MW, pedi and my mom who is also a MW strongly recommended it. We did it and had no issues.
