DS's baptism will be Oct 20. If I send holiday cards out the 1st week of December, do you think that is too late to include a thank you note for those who attended the baptism or is it just not right to send the two together? It's not so much the price of the stamp, it's the taking care of two kids, working full time, and trying to address 30 envelopes. If I can get away with only doing it once that would be great. Re: NTR etiquette clicky poll
DS's birthday is late December. The past two years I've sent his birthday invite in with our Christmas cards. There were a few that I stuck the thank you note in with the Christmas card too. I don't see any problem with that - it's smart to save on postage!
I have a word doc with my adresses on them, in the format of a sheet of labels. When I am in a pinch, I can just print off a sheet of labels. If most of your guests will receive both, just print out a second sheet when needed.
ETA: I also do this when I host a shower and I print a copy of labels for the guest of honor for her thank yous.
This. I'd definitely send them separately & use labels instead of handwriting them all.
And truthfully, 30 envelopes isn't THAT big of a deal. You could even start writing the out NOW, and you could do one per day (after your kids are in bed perhaps?) and have them all ready to go. Then, when you have the baptism you can write 2-3 notes per day and have 21 done in a week and have them almost done.
I do labels for xmas cards so I'd just print extras for the thank yous!
